He sat on a chair opposite, and observed her with his usual disconcerting stare. When it was steaming, he filled a cup and gave it to her. She watched as he stirred in the same beverage that she had yesterday morning.

While she sat nervously on the edge, he heated a metal canteen over a crudely assembled grill, wired haphazardly to a small accumulator. His cabin door was open, and he nudged her towards the bed. Animal excrement, electronic debris lay in her path, but she continued to be guided forward. The corridor was laden with dirt and grime. One part of her knew Fly was leading her to her rape, and that part was going to allow it to happen because the other side was lying dormant through fear and exhaustion. The fingers circling her nape were biting and painful, but the echo of the howling wolves was still too tightly embedded in her mind for her to notice. The similarity of the two texts is apparent and each has striking similarities to the 'Butcher Boy', found also in this collection.Jenny plodded along, stupefied. McDowell remembers well hearing her mother sing parts of this song, and her memory of the tune is corroborated by Mrs. the first version without a heading except the first line.

After the opening stanza- similar to 'Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies' and the 2nd stanza similar to 'Deep Blue Sea' only the 5th stanza is from the 'Constant Lady and False Hearted Squire' broadside- the rest are the 'Died for Love' group. Stanzas 3, 4, 6 and 7 are part of the 'Died for Love' group. This is another one of the border-line songs but clearly related.
